The Southern resorts of Costa Del Silencio, Las Galletas, Los Cristianos and Las Americas have something to offer people of all ages. Playa de las Americas, the home of discos, nightclubs and large hotels is a popular destination for the young and young at heart who like to party all night and chill out by the pool all day. Los Cristianos with its small cafes and bars and multitude of self-catering accommodation is ideal for families with young children. Costa Del Silencio and Las Galletas are both near enough to the buzz of Las Americas to suit those who like to combine an occasional night out with tranquil days.

Las Galletas, a Spanish fishing village, has recently received a makeover from the local council. Many roads have been turned into pedestrian walkways which in turn has resulted in new little cafes sprouting up here and there and a pleasant environment for an early evening promenade.

The temperature in Tenerife rarely falls below 20 degrees even in the winter, and only on exceptional days does it rise above 33 degrees even in the height of summer, no wonder the island is known as the land of eternal spring.
